With over 40 years in the bespoke picture framing trade we have always kept true to our belief that the solution to framing any artefact should firstly be functional, providing artwork protection.

We understand that it is not just vintage photographs and watercolours that should adhere to conservation picture framing methods; in today’s environment, even newly produced artwork requires protection.  Secondly, fine art framing should enhance and compliment its contents.

This long held concept that has been nurtured at Wychwood Framing Gallery is at the forefront of London Bus Blinds. Our choice of materials has been carefully chosen to compliment and enhance these wonderful signs and blinds while protecting their own inherent qualities. 

The mouldings we use for framing are all timber based and not polymer - plastic - mouldings that tend to bend and sag.

Mountboard is conservation quality.

We glaze with glass, not styrene. Styrene glass will scratch.

Backing is ArtBak. The backing is taped and strung with non slip chord. It is ready to hang. We advice hanging your blind on two picture hooks that are placed a few inches in from the edge of the picture. This not only limits frame movement it reduces chord sag.

Unless stated the moulding is 20mm in width, 20mm deep and has a flat matt black finish. The black mountboard has a beveled edge that is also black. The mount width is 50mm.

We are of course open to other combinations of framing, however it is quite a difficult task and challenge when discussing customer requirements regarding the multitude of shades and tones within frames and especially mounts over the internet. But we do try.
