Single Line Destinations

Long drop Destinations are a combination of destinations framed in one frame. Maximum size for the drop is 64 inches. Width is dependant on the blind but maximum is 44 inch. Most single blind destinations tend to be 6 inches therefore ten destinations will be a 60 inch drop. Random destinations require a mount and are restricted to FOUR destinations. Size of four destinations being about 44 inches wide by 32 inch drop. These do look absolutely stunning!

All signs are sold FRAMED. These lovely original blinds originated from Edwardian buses which carried sign-written wooden destination boards, a leftover from stagecoaches. Routes lengthened when petrol-engines replaced horses, then more versatile roll-blinds appeared. From the 1930s London Transport made their own by hand, - screen printed paper on dutch linen. By the late 1980s. stronger, modern materials arrived and blinds were outsourced and machine made blinds came about. Sizes given relate to the outside dimensions of the frame and are approximate sizes. Most are 43 inch by 11 inch.

Yellow on black destination blinds belong to a later era in London Transports history where they outsourced their printing requirements. Most of our collection relate to the early period of of manufacture which is the late 1980s to early 1990s Many of the destinations were printed onto a material known as Tyvek although we do have a good number of linen backed yellow on black. Some blinds are black on yellow. Sizes given relate to the outside dimensions of the frame and are approximate sizes. Most are 43 inch by 11 inch
